The Blackdom Townsite company was incorporated today with a capital stock of $10,000. The purpose is to establish a colony of negroes from the southern states in Chavez county, the name of the town to be Blackdom.

Roswell Record- The Blackdom Oil Co. has signed a contract with a California drilling company for a test well on 4,290 acres at Blackdom south of this city. The contract provides that operations must start within ninety days and actual drilling within six months and that the hole must be started with a 20 inch casing and be drilled to 3,500 feet unless oil or gas is found in paying qualities at a lesser depth.
